Luiz Gabriel Lopes is a composer and music producer. At the age of 38, he has built up a long career dedicated to music, in a very unique way, working in a diverse and passionate way on the many projects he has been involved with.
From the broth of this work trajectory and its many echoes, comes the desire to share in a deeper way the experiences, perceptions and questions that arise along the way. Hence the proposal for this immersion: an introductory but intensive workshop in a living laboratory of sounds and senses. A practical workshop to create and polish songs, using all the tools at hand.
Through dynamics such as listening practices, analysis and creation, the idea is to immerse the participants horizontally and empirically in the universe of musical creation and production, seeking to expand their vision and practical performance within creative and intuitive activity.
During the course of the Laboratory, the work will bring to the group’s focus attention, perception, analysis, deepening, practice and critical debate on various stages of the group music creation process.

. analysis of individual and group creative processes
. creative writing exercises, unblocking through practice, individual and group writing games
. critical appraisal – sharing the results of exercises or previous creations, followed by a critical debate with the group
. repetition, rhyme, prosody, meter – introduction to concepts; tools and techniques for handling form; lyrics to music & music to lyrics
. sharing circles – content for expanding references, listening to music conducted musical improvisation – improvisation exercises
. musical production – understanding and analyzing musical production as an instrument of creation, through textures, rhythms and sounds
. timbres and sounds – capturing sounds and manipulating them using digital sound processing tools; basic concepts of equalization, compression and editing

LUIZ GABRIEL LOPES
Luiz Gabriel Lopes (aka “LUIZGA”) is a Brazilian artist who grew up in the interior of Minas Gerais and has roots in many territories. He founded groups such as Graveola, TiãoDuá and Rosa Neon, to whom he lent his voice and compositions in countless recordings and concerts. With a nomadic spirit, he has been criss-crossing the world for years with his guitar on his back, performing in various regions inside and outside Brazil. In this career, he has collaborated on stage and in the studio with names as diverse as Chico César, Xangai, Vitor Ramil, Samuel Rosa, Djonga and Marina Sena.
His vast repertoire as a songwriter includes hits such as “Lembrete”, which has several re-recordings, “Criança Boa”, which is part of the soundtrack for the Netflix series “Você Não Me Conhece”, or the song “Minha Irmã”, which has more than 9,000 videos on TikTok.
In his solo career, he has released the albums “Passando Portas” (2010), “O Fazedor de Rios” (2015), “MANA” (2017), “Presente” (2020), “SÓIS” (2021) and “YEMAMAYA” (2022), the latter in partnership with producer iZem, on the French label Elis Records. In 2023, he releases the album “O Destino do Clã”, in partnership with Nanan and Gustavito, and also the album AIÊ, in partnership with the Portuguese Edgar Valente (on the German label Ajabu Records). In 2024, he released “Real Cinema”, a solo album, and “TXAI BAND”, in partnership with Paulo Novaes.
As an educator and music producer, in recent years he has carried out artistic residencies with young indigenous people from the Huni Kuin people in the state of Acre (Amazon Rainforest). He is also the artistic director of Mostra Cantautores, a festival dedicated to popular song that has been held since 2011 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
