SerVivo is on the lookout for four enthusiastic individuals keen on contributing their skills and passion. We offer a unique opportunity to be part of an inspiring team, dedicated to nurturing human development through art, dance, meditation, and diverse practices.
What is ESC?
The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is an initiative by the European Union, that empowers young individuals aged 18 to 30 through volunteering or work projects within their country or abroad. It’s designed to promote solidarity, encourage social engagement, and facilitate personal growth by offering opportunities to contribute to society, gain experience, and develop new skills across diverse activities.
Participants benefit from essential support like food, accommodation, travel, pocket money, insurance, and mentorship throughout their engagement.
Volunteers have the opportunity to learn and grow by engaging in meaningful projects that encourage teamwork, collaboration, and cultural exchange, enabling them to immerse themselves in diverse communities and work collectively.
Dates & duration
Arrival is in June (exact dates coming soon!). The minimum commitment is 3 months, but you can stay up to a year.
Volunteer profile
We seek volunteers who are deeply motivated and prepared to invest their energy in both hands-on tasks and active participation within our community, along with a basic knowledge of English and organisational abilities. They should be prepared to engage in various activities including gardening, vegan/vegetarian cooking, cleaning, and overall maintenance.
Volunteers must show an interest in learning and living in a community. Living closely with a community of diverse individuals can be both challenging and rewarding, and we seek people who are open to that experience, and eager to support our shared values and goals.

Available positions
Do you have a green thumb and a passion for sustainable food production? SerVivo is seeking a motivated and curious individual to join as a Garden Volunteer. As part of our team, you’ll play an important role in establishing and maintaining an efficient, year-round permaculture garden that will sustain our community.
Depending on your skills, tasks may include:
Plan development: Create and implement a sustainable permaculture plan tailored to our landscape, considering land area, water supply, existing vegetation, and soil improvement techniques.
Crop cultivation: Plant and maintain crops according to the Portuguese seasons, focusing on a healthy rotation system for a closed ecological cycle.
Food preservation: Explore and implement methods to preserve surplus food such as drying, freezing, and cooking to sustain us throughout the year.
Innovative solutions: Devise strategies to tackle challenges like managing snails and ensuring a steady supply of vegetables.
Are you a handy individual skilled in fixing things and building solutions? SerVivo is seeking a Maintenance Volunteer to play a crucial role in maintaining our event venue and supporting ongoing improvement projects. We’re looking for someone with basic skills in plumbing, electricity, building, woodworking, or similar technical areas, who can troubleshoot issues and provide solutions.
Depending on your skills, tasks may include:
Infrastructure improvement: Engage in diverse projects, including constructing an organic fence, implementing a solar thermal system for showers, and insulating existing structures for weather protection and energy efficiency.
Rain and water management: Develop and implement plans to manage rainwater and greywater systems efficiently.
Renovation: Assist in finishing the studio wall by insulating, installing windows, and adding a wooden layer to enhance its aesthetics and functionality.
Dry toilet design and construction: Plan and build two new dry toilets considering hygiene, design, and functionality for accommodating varying numbers of people, ensuring an environmentally friendly and hygienic setup.
Are you enthusiastic about supporting SerVivo’s management and enhancing its online presence? SerVivo is seeking an enthusiastic individual to fulfil a dual role as a Marketing and Management Support Volunteer. In this multifaceted role, you’ll engage in diverse tasks aimed at enhancing SerVivo’s online presence and providing crucial administrative support.
Depending on your skills, tasks may include:
Content creation: Develop engaging content for social media, newsletters, and website updates to amplify SerVivo’s mission and events.
Fundraising initiatives: Contribute to research and launching fundraising campaigns to improve SerVivo’s facilities and projects, aiding in administrative tasks related to funding applications.
Event coordination support: Assist in coordinating communications between the event team, volunteers, and visitors to ensure seamless operations during events and workshops.
Website and newsletter updates: Manage website updates and back-end form creations to optimise user experience and keep the audience informed.
Project assistance: Support the team in administrative tasks, such as project management, logistical coordination, and data entry.
Are you passionate about creating memorable experiences? SerVivo is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Event Management Volunteer. In this role, you’ll be supporting the organising and coordinating of various events, including festivals, workshops, classes, and more, aimed at offering enriching experiences for our diverse participants.
Depending on your skills, tasks may include:
Website management: Keep our website updated with event details, ensuring accuracy and clarity in information for our attendees.
Logistics and coordination: From creating necessary forms to preparing the venue, your support in hosting events and being available to welcome facilitators and participants will be invaluable.
Event Support: Assist in managing events, providing support to facilitate smooth operations and address any queries or concerns.
